Industry 4.0 in Myanmar

Upon the initiative of the German private sector and the AHK Myanmar and with support by the German Embassy, the Industry 4.0 working group was formed in mid-2018.

This Industry 4.0 Working Group is part of a two years’ program consisting of three pillars; the Working Group itself- whereby participants exchange ideas on Industry 4.0 and jointly develop business cases for implementation; the Mentoring Program (Twe Kaw – Pha Leh) – where mentors from the German business community will provide guidance and assistance to young Myanmar entrepreneur the mentees; and the Industry 4.0 in Myanmar Conference conceptualized as a High-Level Stakeholder Conference with an expected 200 expert guests.

Industry 4.0 Conference

On 24th May 2019, the Delegation of the German Industry and Commerce in Myanmar (AHK Myanmar) hosted the Industry 4.0 in Myanmar Conference at the Novotel Yangon Max which garned a lot of interest with over 250 participants.

The Industry 4.0 in Myanmar Conference is also supported by Roland Berger, Myanmar Survey Research, Bosch Myanmar, Rieckermann Services, Koe Koe Tech, Schaeffler Group, Metro Wholesale Myanmar, Festo/Sea Lion Group, GEA Process Engineering (Myanmar) and Siemens Myanmar.

In the context of the conference, the AHK Myanmar in cooperation with Roland Berger and Myanmar Survey Research (MSR) also launched a whitepaper on the digital leapfrogging potentials in Myanmar which is based on new survey data explicitly collected and analyzed for the paper.

 

Seminar in Mandalay

On 20th February 2020, we had a very successful seminar on Industry 4.0 in Myanmar at the Hilton Mandalay. We were delighted to learn that the audience in Mandalay was very engaged and knowledgeable. Topics such as Education 4.0, Smart Cities and Industry 4.0 were presented.

Presentation in Nay Pyi Taw

After the successful "Industry 4.0 in Myanmar" Conference in Yangon, AHK Myanmar organized a cocktail reception with the government officials and parliamentarisans as a follow up event in Hilton Nay Pyi Taw in August 2019. The reception was attended by The Minister of Education H.E Dr. Myo Thein Gyi and the Deputy Minister H.E Dr. Ye Myint Swe with several other representatives from the Ministry of Commerce, Minsitry of Inudstry and representatives from the Parliament.
